INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION
REQUIREMENTS

Rice Business welcomes ambitious leaders from around the world into our tight-knit community of problem-solvers. Our international students play an important role in expanding our geographical footprint and embodying the diversity and innovation that MBA@Rice offers.

To be eligible for admission into the online MBA program from Rice Business, you must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a four-year program or its international equivalent.

Please note that international applicants do not qualify to obtain a visa through MBA@Rice. You must already have a valid visa that allows you to study in the United States. Visit the U.S. Department of State website if you have any questions about obtaining a student visa.

UPLOAD UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Before submitting your online application, upload an unofficial (scanned) copy of your transcripts or mark sheets.

PROVIDE A CERTIFIED TRANSLATION

If your transcripts are not in English, upload an additional copy that has been translated into English by a certified translator. These translations must bear an original ink signature and seal, and the unofficial, untranslated copy must accompany the translated copy.

ENTER YOUR GPA

You also will need to manually enter your GPA into the “Education” section of your application. If your GPA is not scored on a 4.0 scale, manually convert your grades to a 4.0 scale using a tool such as the WES iGPA Calculator.

If the admissions committee notices issues with legibility or translation accuracy, or if you are unable to convert your grades to a 4.0 scale, they may ask you to send an official transcript or credential evaluation.

If you are admitted and decide to enroll with us, you will be required to send us official (physical or electronic) transcripts from each bachelor’s or graduate degree(s) earned from U.S. degree-granting institution(s). 

To ensure credential standardization, we require that all transcripts from non-U.S. degree-granting institutions be reviewed by a third-party transcript evaluation service. You are welcome to use any of the below three companies for this process.

The evaluation will also fulfill the requirement of an official transcript for that institution.

Note: If the Admissions Committee notices issues with the accuracy or legibility of your unofficial transcripts, we also reserve the right to request that you send us an official transcript before releasing your final decision.
